Do You Really Want That Job?

Needing a job is one thing, purposefully applying to jobs that match your competency is another. Job hunting can be tough and exhausting, so stop applying for jobs you don’t really want.

How to know a job you want:

1 – The title and job description.
Think, ‘is this clear and aligned with my career ambitions and experience?’
“Will I enjoy doing this everyday or is this another job I will hate waking up to?”

2 – Requirements
“Do I have the knowledge, skills and capabilities to perform optimally on the job?”
You don’t want to look like those candidates that exaggerate their CV, get the job and can’t perform. (this happens too often)

P.S if a requirement is a MUST and you do not have it, please move ahead. Save your time and that of the hiring manager. Your skills are needed elsewhere.

3 – Value Match
You should research the company’s culture and values, making sure they match yours. If the position is a good match but the culture is not, it would lead to a frustrating experience.

Imagine having a headache just by thinking about your workplace. I’ve been there. I ran whilst I could! 🏃

The key to a productive job search is purpose.

I wish you the best in your search and interviews this week.
Lines will fall for you in pleasant places.
